AP Biology
What did we do in class today?
Learning Target: I can describe how cell size impacts the efficiency of cellular processes.
Please sit in POGIL groups. These will be your lab groups today as well. Warm-up: Complete #23 (table) through 26 on POGIL Lab: Diffusion in agar cubes HW: Due tomorrow: Watch and take notes in your DATA ANALYSIS SECTION OF YOUR BILL over water potential - for open note quiz tomorrow Due Tuesday, 1/21
please see Ms. Hopp in 720 if you are coming Friday before school.

Learning Target: I can describe how the composition of a protein influences its structure and function.
No warm-up 1. Closed note quiz: Biochemistry 2. Complete protein POGIL 3. Protein folding model HW: Set up lab notebook AND Pre-lab for agar cube diffusion lab: Pre-lab:
Learning Target: I can describe the components of the plasma membrane and how the influence the function of the membrane.
Please pick up a white board and a marker, sit in POGIL groups. Warm-up: Draw and label a phospholipid. 1. Continue protein POGIL 2. Protein folding modeling 3. Cell membrane modeling HW:
Clear your desks, cell phones and smart watches MUST be in your bags. NOT in your pocket. You only need something to write with for the quiz.
Learning Target: I can describe how the composition, monomer, type of bonds, and function(s) of proteins. 1. Organelle Quiz 2. Protein introduction 3. Protein group activity Due Tuesday: 1/14
Closed note biochemistry quiz 0 Comments Learning Targets:
HW: Due Monday 1/13: Organelle proficiency quiz - water lab is NOT homework If possible, please also take time to begin decorating your BILL. You will have additional homework Monday night. Due Tuesday: 1/14
Closed note biochemistry quiz Learning Target: I can describe the composition, monomer, type of bonds, and function(s) of carbohydrates and lipids.
No warm-up
If you would like to access your textbook tonight, please visit the link below, create an account if you don't already have one, and message Ms. Johnson for the textbook code via remind or email: https://www.pearsonmylabandmastering.com/northamerica/masteringbiology/ HW: Due Friday 1/10: Watch and take notes on pages K-L in the DATA ANALYSIS section of your BILL over:
Due Monday 1/13: Organelle proficiency quiz Due Tuesday: 1/14
Closed note biochemistry quiz Learning Target: I can describe the properties of the 4 biologically important macromolecules.
Please pick up organelle note card slip of paper by the mailboxes. Warm-up: (on same sheet as yesterday) list each biologically important macromolecule and describe at least one defining characteristic of each.
HW: Due Tomorrow:
Watch and take notes on pages K-L in the DATA ANALYSIS section of your BILL over:
Due Monday 1/14: Organelle proficiency quiz Due Tuesday: 1/15
Closed note biochemistry quiz Learning Target: I can describe the chemical basis for the properties of water. Pick up a white board, a marker, and a towel by the mailboxes. Take out a separate sheet of paper, and write "Warm-ups" on the top. We will place this in your BILL on Thursday. All future warm-ups will go in your BILL. Write today's date - next to it, respond to the warm-up. Warm-up: Draw a water molecule. Label the elements and the areas of partial positive charge and partial negative charge. 1. Share bookmarks 2. Notes: Water 3. Complete water lab HW and Due Dates: Due Tomorrow: Crash Course Biological Molecules- Take notes in your preferred format on a separate sheet of paper (in the future all video notes will go in your BILL). I recommend turning on the closed captioning and pausing frequently.
Due Thursday:
Due Monday 1/14: BILL decoration
Welcome to AP Biology! Please fill out the student information sheet in front of you.
Learning Target: I can describe how properties of water influence its behavior. 1. Introductions 2. Water exploration 3. Biology names and book marks
